Heritage of the Invisible II : Von ihrer Bandcamd-Seite: Im Sommer 2014 reisten sie gemeinsam nach Panama, um dort aufzutreten und eine Reihe von Duo-Improvisationen aufzunehmen, die sie später im Jahr selbst digital veröffentlichten. Zurück in Brooklyn traten Navarro und Holmes 2015 als Duo bei einer Veranstaltung von Musicians Against Police Brutality auf, wo sie die Bühne mit dem Trio Camae Ayewa (alias Moor Mother), Keir Neuringer und Luke Stewart teilten. Die beiden Gruppen wurden schnell Freunde und schlossen sich kurz darauf zu dem gemeinsamen Quintett Irreversible Entanglements zusammen.

Irreversible Entanglements ist ein befreiungsorientiertes Free-Jazz-Kollektiv, das Anfang 2015 von dem Saxophonisten Keir Neuringer, der Dichterin Camae Ayewa (alias Moor Mother) und dem Bassisten Luke Stewart gegründet wurde. Sie kamen zusammen, um bei einer Veranstaltung von Musicians Against Police Brutality aufzutreten, die nach der Ermordung von Akai Gurley durch die NYPD organisiert wurde. Monate später fügte die Gruppe den Trompeter Aquiles Navarro und den Schlagzeuger Tcheser Holmes (ein Duo, das ebenfalls bei der MAPB-Veranstaltung auftrat) für einen einzigen Aufnahmetag im Seizure’s Palace in Brooklyn hinzu, und das erste Mal, dass das gesamte Quintett zusammen spielte, wurde für dieses Debüt festgehalten. – Heritage of the Invisible II : From their Bandcamd-Side: In Summer 2014 they traveled to Panama together to perform and record a set of duo improvisations, which they digitally self-released later that year. Back in Brooklyn in 2015, Navarro and Holmes performed as a duo at a Musicians Against Police Brutality event, where they shared the stage with the trio of Camae Ayewa (aka Moor Mother), Keir Neuringer and Luke Stewart. The two groups made fast friends, and shortly after, came together to form the collective quintet Irreversible Entanglements.

Irreversible Entanglements are a liberation-oriented free jazz collective formed in early 2015 by saxophonist Keir Neuringer, poet Camae Ayewa (a.k.a. Moor Mother) and bassist Luke Stewart, who came together to perform at a Musicians Against Police Brutality event organized after the slaying of Akai Gurley by the NYPD. Months later the group added trumpeter Aquiles Navarro and drummer Tcheser Holmes (a duo who also performed at the MAPB event) for a single day of recording at Seizure’s Palace in Brooklyn, and the full quintet’s first time playing together was captured for this debut.
