Set 1 – Biłat /Gschlößl/Heather:
Julia Bilat (cello); Gerhard Gschlößl (trombone, tuba); Steve Heather (drums)
The trio of cello, trombone/tuba, and drums forges radical sonic paths beyond familiar forms. In improvised and avant-garde pieces, fragile soundscapes and unexpected, eruptive sonic sculptures emerge. Each performance becomes an open experiment in which the boundaries between composition and improvisation dissolve – a visionary dialogue between body, space, and sound.
Set 2 – Ulrich Gumpert (piano) solo
Ulrich Gumpert developed a distinctive personal style by drawing on the traditions of jazz and European music history in a unique and original way. As an improviser and composer, he has given — and continues to give — certain musical developments a unique impetus.
“There aren’t many jazz musicians in Germany with such an unmistakable signature as Ulrich Gumpert.” (Wolf Kampmann, Jazzthetik)
Set 3 – Nebbia/Sandsjö
Camila Nebbia (tenor saxophone), Otis Sandsjö (tenor saxophone)
Camila Nebbia, originally from Buenos Aires and now based in Berlin, has been described by Jazz PT Magazine as “one of the most important saxophonists of our time.” A multidisciplinary artist, she interweaves the creation and destruction of archival memory in her work, exploring themes of identity, migration, and remembrance. Her artistic practice spans improvised and composed music, film works, and audiovisual performances, forming a constellation of interconnected disciplines.
Otis Sandsjö, known for his physically expressive yet melancholic playing style, has emerged in recent years as one of the most sought-after young saxophonists in Europe’s progressive jazz and pop scenes. He leads his own projects, including Y-OTIS and OTIS SUN.
