Sie stehen vor der Bar, angekündigt war sie als Top-Location, an der Tür ein Schild : wegen Renovierung geschlossen – sie wechseln in eine Spelunke – die Prognose war: bald werden sie in der Top-Location auftreten – stattdessen die Spelunke mit den vergilbten Bildern aus 1950 oder älter – alles auf Patina gemacht, die ganze Chose erzählt etwas von verrauchten Zeiten, Sie kommen vorbei und denken: bloß das nicht. Sie müssen trotzdem da durch. Das machen sie schließlich so häufig durch, Sie gewöhnen sich sogar daran, sosehr, dass Sie selbst Patina ansetzen, Ihre Lesebrille ist ganz verstaubt

– Sie leben plötzlich mitten auf der Straße unter den Leuten in diesem verrauchten Club, das Publikum dreht regelmäßig durch, sie schnippen mit den Fingern und schaukeln ihre Köpfe, die Knie wippen – bei so viel Hand- wie Hausgemachtem mit dem Witz vom Jazz wie von 78 RPM drehenden Schellackplatten – was ein Spaß, nicht wahr – Ihr Nachbar fragt nach: und wer sind die? Nun, das sind die vier von der Swingbude mit Witz und Spaß an der Sache, das schwappt nur so rüber, sie spielen häufiger hier, immer vollgepacktes Haus, und wenn der Nobelschuppen erst fertig ist, ziehen sie rüber

– bis dahin feiern wir diese Nummern – neulich erst konnte ich hören, dass der Mann am Bass ein echtes B-Bop-Solo draufhat – das macht Laune, nicht wahr – ja klar, wo spielen sie demnächst? – kann sein, in der Feuerwache … zum Ablöschen der unterkühlten Leute … sie selbst nennen es Leaning IN Underground Tour. Das hat seine Vorgeschichte, die kannst du nachlesen bei Linus Eppinger, dem Gitarristen. Der hat ein vielbeachtetes Debut hingelegt, eine Aufnahme für Leute in ihren Nobelkarossen sozusagen, diese hier ist etwas originärer im Sinn von: sie swingt gewaltig. Und bringt gute Stimmung mit. Und kann stundenlang vor sich hinswingen – Yes.

You’re standing in front of the bar, it was advertised as a top location, a sign on the door: closed for renovation – they switch to a dive bar – the forecast was: soon they’ll be performing in the top location – instead the dive bar with the yellowed pictures from 1950 or older – all done up in patina, the whole thing says something about smoky times, you pass by and think: just not this. You have to go through it anyway. After all, you go through it so often, you even get used to it, so much so that you yourself develop a patina, your reading glasses are all dusty

You are suddenly living in the middle of the street among the people in this smoky club, the audience regularly goes crazy, they snap their fingers and bob their heads, their knees bounce – with so much handmade and home-made music with the joke of jazz like 78 RPM spinning shellac records – what fun, isn’t it – your neighbor asks: and who are they? Well, they’re the four from the Swingbude with wit and fun, it just spills over, they play here more often, always a packed house, and when the Nobelschuppen is finished, they’ll move over

until then we’ll celebrate these numbers – just the other day I could hear that the man on the bass has a real b-bop solo – that’s fun, isn’t it – yeah, where are they playing soon? – It could be at the fire station … to put out the hypothermic crowd … they themselves call it the Leaning IN Underground Tour. There’s a story behind it, you can read about it with Linus Eppinger, the guitarist. He made a highly acclaimed debut, a recording for people in their posh cars, so to speak, this one is a bit more original in the sense that it swings mightily. And creates a good atmosphere. And can swing away for hours – Yes.
