Elshan Ghasimi is a tar and setar player, composer and singer – and one of the few female masters of classical Persian music worldwide. For years, she has been tracing the boundaries between old music heritage and the present: between Radīf, jazz, electronic and contemporary music. In Recording Session, she unveils her current artistic world – with songs from the cycle Tasneef, miniatures, new compositions and free improvisation. An evening poised between archive, future and presence – musical, poetic, and profound.
