Denice Brooks built her solo career while she performed with Anita Baker, Roy Ayers, Luther Vandross, Tina Turner and Natalie Cole. She moved Prince with her version of “Purple Rain” and made huge crowds dance all over Europe. Now, she is back.
Rising Star
While living in Germany in the 90’s – Jennifer Rush (“Power of Love“) and Dr. Alban (“Sing Hallelujah“) hired Denice for their European tours, where she was a huge success.
Sir Paul McCartney also hired her to co-star in a musical which he wrote. It was based on his duet with Stevie Wonder in their Grammy winning song “Ebony and Ivory”. Every show was sold out and the audience responded with standing ovations for her performances every night.

Denice Brooks’ interpretation of Prince’s “Purple Rain“was recorded and released as a 12“ maxi single and a 7“ single in 1984, shortly after she moved to Berlin for the first time. Not only did she perform the song countless times on stage, but she also sang the third verse during a Prince concert in Berlin. The tune “Do Ya Want My Love“ is on the B-side.
