Alessandro Di Puccio ist ein vielseitiger italienischer Musiker, der in Berlin lebt und in der europäischen Jazzszene aktiv ist. Geboren 1958 in Florenz, ist er als Vibraphonist, Pianist, Komponist und Arrangeur tätig. Seit den frühen 1980er Jahren hat er in bedeutenden Clubs und bei Festivals in Italien und Europa gespielt und mit namhaften Musikern wie Toots Thielemans, Albert Mangelsdorff, Mal Waldron und Stefano Bollani zusammengearbeitet.

Aktuelle Projekte in Berlin

Mediterranean Fragments: Ein Quartett, das zeitgenössischen Jazz mit mediterranen Klängen verbindet. Neben Di Puccio spielen Tobias Netta (Trompete), Carmelo Leotta (Kontrabass) und Andrea Marcelli (Schlagzeug). Das Ensemble tritt regelmäßig im Schlot Jazz Club in Berlin auf.
VibraForte: Ein Duo mit dem Pianisten Antonello Marafioti, das Jazzstandards, italienische Musik und Originalkompositionen präsentiert. Die beiden Musiker schaffen melodische Improvisationsstrukturen, die sich im musikalischen Thema vereinen. (marafioti-jazz-berlin.de)

Diskografie und Veröffentlichungen

One Instrument Sessions 04: Drei Ein-Take-Vibraphon-Stücke, die ursprünglich für das Theaterstück Il silenzio è d’oro komponiert wurden. Nach 18 Jahren wurden diese Werke erstmals veröffentlicht und reflektieren Di Puccios Interesse an der Erzeugung virtuoser und zarter Emotionen.

Di Puccio hat Kompositionen und Arrangements für Jazzorchester geschrieben und dirigiert, wobei die wichtigsten Erfahrungen mit Orchestern gemacht wurden:
Les Italiens (von 1998 bis 2013), das ausschließlich seine Kompositionen aufführte und bei italienischen und europäischen Festivals und Messen auftrat. Mit diesem Orchester hat er 2 CDs aufgenommen: Les Italiens (2002) und Verdeluna Dancing Hall (2009).
Das Orchester Far Fly MusicComunity (von 2006 bis 2008) wurde für die Aufführung von Stücken des verstorbenen Pianisten Luca Flores gegründet, die von Di Puccio arrangiert wurden, mit dem er an vielen Jazzfestivals teilgenommen hat.

Alessandro Di Puccio is a versatile Italian musician who lives in Berlin and is active on the European jazz scene. Born in Florence in 1958, he works as a vibraphonist, pianist, composer and arranger. Since the early 1980s, he has played in major clubs and festivals in Italy and Europe and collaborated with renowned musicians such as Toots Thielemans, Albert Mangelsdorff, Mal Waldron and Stefano Bollani.

Current projects in Berlin

Mediterranean Fragments: A quartet that combines contemporary jazz with Mediterranean sounds. Di Puccio is joined by Tobias Netta (trumpet), Carmelo Leotta (double bass) and Andrea Marcelli (drums). The ensemble performs regularly at the Schlot Jazz Club in Berlin.
VibraForte: A duo with pianist Antonello Marafioti that performs jazz standards, Italian music and original compositions. The two musicians create melodic improvisational structures that unite in the musical theme. (marafioti-jazz-berlin.de)

One Instrument Sessions 04: Three one-take vibraphone pieces originally composed for the theater play Il silenzio è d’oro. Published for the first time in 18 years, these works reflect Di Puccio’s interest in creating virtuosic and delicate emotions.

Di Puccio has written and conducted compositions and arrangements for jazz orchestras, with the most important experiences being with orchestras:
Les Italiens (from 1998 to 2013), which exclusively performed his compositions and appeared at Italian and European festivals and fairs. He has recorded 2 CDs with this orchestra: Les Italiens (2002) and Verdeluna Dancing Hall (2009).
The orchestra Far Fly MusicComunity (from 2006 to 2008) was founded for the performance of pieces by the late pianist Luca Flores, arranged by Di Puccio, with whom he participated in many jazz festivals.
