Flamenco spiegelt intensive Gefühle wider, während Jazz mit seinen Wurzeln im südamerikanischen und afrikanischen Erbe ebenfalls starke Emotionen einfängt.
Berlin spielte eine wichtige Rolle in der Entwicklung des Flamenco-Jazz, mit einem bedeutenden Moment beim Berliner Jazzfestival in 1967. Dort führte Pedro Iturralde die Fusion ein und brachte ein 19-jähriges Flamenco-Wunderkind namens Paco de Lucía mit, das später zu einer internationalen Flamenco-Sensation wurde und eine dauerhafte Verbindung zum Jazz pflegte, bis zu seinem Tod im Februar 2014. Unsere Mission ist es, die lebendige Berliner Flamenco-Jazz-Community zu beleuchten und Profis und Enthusiasten gleichermaßen eine Plattform zu bieten, auf der sie sich vernetzen, zusammenarbeiten und ihre Leidenschaft für diese einzigartige musikalische Fusion teilen können. Nikos Tsiachris (g), Naoufal Montassere (g), Jonatan Morgenstern (p), Regis Molina (sax), Cristian Betancourt (perc) Flamenco and jazz are brothers in spirit. They are rooted in ethnic traditions that convey intense emotions. Flamenco was born in Andalusia, a melting pot of eastern and western influences. Flamenco reflects intense feelings, while jazz, with its roots in South American and African heritage, also captures strong emotions.Berlin played an important role in the development of flamenco jazz, with a significant moment at the Berlin Jazz Festival in 1967. There, Pedro Iturralde introduced fusion and brought along a 19-year-old flamenco prodigy named Paco de Lucía, who later became an international flamenco sensation and cultivated an enduring connection to jazz until his death in February 2014.
