The history of the Great American Songbook is presented very differently – in the English Wikipedia it is the predecessor to the Jazz Standards, if not its own preface to the Jazz Standards, on the German Wikipedia it is said that the Great American Songbook contains the pop songs of the time between the 1920s and 1960.
