Originally released on vinyl in April 2016 to celebrate Andres Roots‘ 40th birthday and 20 years on stage, „Roots Music“ topped the Estonian albums chart upon release and earned a Golden Disc award in 2017. Pressed at Vinyl Plant in Tartu, it was the first vinyl record ever manufactured on location in Estonia. „Roots Music“ compiles some of Roots‘ finest studio recordings from 2010-2014, featuring special guests Black River Bluesman (Finland), Eric „Red Mouth“ Gebhardt (Alabama), Dave Arcari (Scotland), Lorete Medne (Latvia), Bert Deivert (US/Sweden), Steve Lury (England), L.R. Phoenix (UK/Finland), Jantso Jokelin (Finland), and many others. The vinyl version is currently out of stock.

Der estnische Slide-Gitarrist Andres Roots ist offizieller Botschafter der Europäischen Kulturhauptstadt Tartu 2024. Seine Musik wird auf fünf Kontinenten gespielt und seine mit der Goldenen Schallplatte 2016 ausgezeichnete LP „Roots Music“ ist das einzige Blues-Album, das jemals die Verkaufscharts im Baltikum angeführt hat.
Der ehemalige Gitarrist und Songwriter von Bullfrog Brown ist in den USA und in ganz Europa aufgetreten, und das 2018 erschienene Buch „100 Years of Estonian Music“ stellt ihn als den „international bekanntesten Spieler des reinen Blues“ vor. Roots‘ neueste Veröffentlichung „Vol. 12“ hat jedoch nicht nur Vergleiche mit der Blütezeit des Mississippi Delta Blues hervorgerufen, sondern auch mit Davy Graham, Leo Kottke, Ry Cooder – und sogar mit dem akustischen Led Zeppelin.

An official Ambassador for the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024, Andres Roots is an Estonian slide guitarist whose music has received airplay on five continents and whose Golden Disc-earning 2016 LP “Roots Music” remains the only blues album ever to top the sales charts in the Baltics.
The former Bullfrog Brown guitarist and songwriter has performed in the USA and throughout Europe, with the 2018 book “100 Years of Estonian Music” introducing him as the country’s “internationally best-known player of pure blues”. Roots’ latest release “Vol. 12” has nevertheless invoked comparisons with not just the heyday of Mississippi Delta Blues but also with Davy Graham, Leo Kottke, Ry Cooder – and even acoustic Led Zeppelin.
