Die zweifach für den Polaris Award nominierte kanadische Experimental-Pop-Gruppe Bernice ist das Projekt von Robin Dann (Gesang, Songs) und ihren langjährigen Mitstreitern Thom Gill (Keyboards), Philippe Melanson (E-Percussion), Daniel Fortin (Bass) und Felicity Williams (Gesang). Seit mehr als einem Jahrzehnt macht die Band Musik, die sich zwischen R&B, Neo-Soul und freier Musik bewegt und durch Robins Wunsch, mit dem Publikum durch Gesang und Lyrik zu kommunizieren, zusammenwächst. Die Band ist derzeit bei Telephone Explosion Records (Toronto) unter Vertrag und hat im April 2023 Cruisin‘ veröffentlicht. Pitchfork nannte es „überschwänglich, exzentrisch und ein Underground-Anliegen“.

2X Polaris-nominated, Canada’s beloved experimental pop group Bernice is the project of Robin Dann (voice, songs) with her longtime collaborators Thom Gill (keyboards), Philippe Melanson (e-percussion), Daniel Fortin (bass) and Felicity Williams (voice). For more than a decade, the band has made music which wanders into r&b, neo-soul, and free music, and coalesces through Robin’s desire to commune with audiences through song and lyric. Currently with Telephone Explosion Records (Toronto), the band released Cruisin’ in April, 2023. Pitchfork called it “exuberant, eccentric, and an underground concern”.
