Ausbildung und Karriere

Schriefl wuchs in einer musikalischen Familie auf; sein älterer Bruder Matthias Schriefl ist ebenfalls Jazzmusiker. Seine musikalische Ausbildung begann er mit 15 Jahren im Bundesjazzorchester. Er studierte Jazztrompete am Conservatorium van Amsterdam, am Jazz-Institut Berlin und am Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. Sein Masterstudium setzte er an der Manhattan School of Music in New York fort und schloss es 2012 ab. Seitdem lebt und arbeitet er in Berlin. (de.wikipedia.org)

Projekte und Zusammenarbeit

Schriefl ist bekannt für seine Vielseitigkeit und seine Zusammenarbeit mit verschiedenen Ensembles und Künstlern:

Subtone: Eine preisgekrönte Band, die 2005 in Berlin gegründet wurde. Subtone gewann 2008 den Jury- und Publikumspreis beim Internationalen Jazz-Wettbewerb Tremplin Jazz in Avignon und war 2014 Finalist beim Neuen Deutschen Jazzpreis. Zu den Alben gehören High Tide (2006), Morningside (2010) und Moose Blues (2018).
Blume: Ein Quartett, das Schriefl zusammen mit Wanja Slavin, Peter Gall und Bernhard Meyer leitet. Das Debütalbum Blume erschien 2015 bei Unit Records.
Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra: Ein experimentelles Großensemble, bei dem Schriefl als Trompeter mitwirkt.

Education and career

Schriefl grew up in a musical family; his older brother Matthias Schriefl is also a jazz musician. He began his musical training at the age of 15 in the Bundesjazzorchester. He studied jazz trumpet at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, the Jazz Institute Berlin and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. He continued his master’s degree at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, graduating in 2012. Since then he has lived and worked in Berlin. (de.wikipedia.org)

Schriefl is known for his versatility and his collaboration with various ensembles and artists:

Subtone: An award-winning band founded in Berlin in 2005. Subtone won the jury and audience prize at the Tremplin Jazz International Jazz Competition in Avignon in 2008 and was a finalist in the 2014 New German Jazz Award. Albums include High Tide (2006), Morningside (2010) and Moose Blues (2018).
Blume: A quartet that Schriefl leads together with Wanja Slavin, Peter Gall and Bernhard Meyer. The debut album Blume was released by Unit Records in 2015.
