Nesin Howhannesijan (*25. Juli 1976 in West-Berlin) ist ein deutscher Kontrabassist mit armenischen und türkischen Wurzeln. Er ist bekannt für seinen kraftvollen, expressiven Bassstil und seine innovative Herangehensweise an Jazz und Improvisation. Ausbildung und musikalischer Werdegang

Howhannesijan begann seine musikalische Ausbildung mit klassischem Violinunterricht in seiner Kindheit. Später wechselte er zum Kontrabass und studierte von 2000 bis 2003 Jazzperformance am Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA. Während seines Studiums nahm er Unterricht bei renommierten Musikern wie Dave Santoro, Dave Clark, Bruce Gertz, Whit Browne und Jesper Lundgaard. Er war auch Mitglied im Orchester des Boston Conservatory.

Education and musical career

Howhannesijan began his musical education with classical violin lessons as a child. He later switched to the double bass and studied jazz performance at Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA, from 2000 to 2003. During his studies, he took lessons from renowned musicians such as Dave Santoro, Dave Clark, Bruce Gertz, Whit Browne and Jesper Lundgaard. He was also a member of the Boston Conservatory Orchestra.
