zugänglicher und zukunftsweisender Sound

Ich sehe drei Alben im Trio, zwei davon in der Besetzung Sörensen, Henriksson und Ciniglio, ich sehe Aufnahmen im Aloft Quintet, weitere Aufnahmen mit Casper Heijlese, Armund Kleppen und Joe Hendriksson – ich sehe an die hundert Auftritte allein für das Jahr 2024 mit u.a. Cornelia Nilsson, Kaisa’s Machine und Vanisha Gold – ich sehe sein Alter: 26 Jahre jung, ich sehe, dass er fünf Jahre in der New Yorker Jazzszene aktiv war, es zeugen die beiden Cover-Aufnahmen von Balancing Arts und Sait davon – jetzt also zum 15. November sein drittes Trio Album, wie Balancing Act bei April Records erschienen, es nennt sich At The Right Time, es erscheint also zum richtigen Zeitpunkt oder zur rechten Zeit. Oder sollte es, Umkehrung, nicht heißen: ein richtig gutes Album in einer falschen Zeit?

Da es ein wunderbares Album ist in schwieriger Zeit, ist es dazu angetan, die schwierige gegen eine bessere Zeit zu tauschen, für die Zeit des Hörens, des Nochmalhörens, solange und so oft, bis hinter dem Album gleich auch das Bessere an sich hervorscheint.

I see three albums in a trio, two of them with Sörensen, Henriksson and Ciniglio, I see recordings in the Aloft Quintet, further recordings with Casper Heijlese, Armund Kleppen and Joe Hendriksson – I see around a hundred gigs for the year 2024 alone with, among others Cornelia Nilsson, Kaisa’s Machine and Vanisha Gold – I see his age: 26 years young, I see that he was active in the New York jazz scene for five years, as evidenced by the two cover recordings of Balancing Arts and Sait – so now on November 15th his third trio album, like Balancing Act released on April Records, it’s called At The Right Time, so it’s being released at the right time. Or, conversely, shouldn’t it be: a really good album in the wrong time?

As it is a wonderful album in a difficult time, it is suited to exchanging the difficult time for a better time, for the time of listening, of re-listening, as long and as often as it takes for the better thing in itself.

Drummer Kendrick Scott and bassist Alexander Claffy join rising-star Danish pianist Rasmus Sørensen for the release of a special trio project – Balancing Act – recorded in true jazz spirit in the heart of New York City.

Danish pianist, composer and improviser Rasmus Sørensen moved to New York City in 2018 and has since gained wide recognition for his accessible yet forward-looking sound both as a musician and composer. Having collaborated with a vast array of artists across genres over the years as well as having toured extensively, his debut trio album Traits was released on june 17th 2022 and exhibits Rasmus‘ perception of the world around us through his musical scope.
