Text B-Flat: Udi Shlomo ist ein Schlagzeuger, Komponist und Arrangeur, der seit 2010 in Norwegen (Trondheim) lebt und aktiv ist. Er stammt aus dem Kibbuz Nahshon und hat Wurzeln im Irak, in Polen und der alten Tschechoslowakei.
Dieser vielfältige Hintergrund kommt in Shlomos Musik zum Ausdruck, die Originalkompositionen, die von Erinnerungen, Bildern, Geschichten und der Natur aus seinem frühen Leben im Kibbuz inspiriert sind, mit neuen Arrangements traditioneller jüdischer Musik kombiniert und durch die Erfahrung des Lebens in Norwegen, fernab der Wurzeln, in der Diaspora, gefärbt ist. Diese Mischung von Kulturen schafft das, was man heute “World Jazz” nennt.

Text B-Flat: Udi Shlomo is a drummer, composer and arranger who has been living and working in Norway (Trondheim) since 2010. He comes from the Nahshon kibbutz and has roots in Iraq, Poland and the old Czechoslovakia.
This diverse background is expressed in Shlomo’s music, which combines original compositions inspired by memories, images, stories and nature from his early life on the kibbutz with new arrangements of traditional Jewish music, coloured by the experience of living in Norway, far from his roots, in the diaspora. This mixture of cultures creates what today is called “world jazz”.
