Die von der Saxophonistin und Komponistin Luise Volkmann zusammengestellte neue Konstellation fängt den organischen Klang dreier individueller Ateminstrumente ein und schärft die verwandten Tonbereiche der kollektiven Altstimmen in einem neuen Repertoire, das manchmal lyrisch, manchmal humorvoll und manchmal sehnsüchtig ist.
Volkmann findet das Spiel mit den Songstrukturen der Popmusik in Verbindung mit freier Geräuschimprovisation ein reizvolles Konzept für dieses Trio. So bewegt sich das neue Programm fließend zwischen Popsongs, Neuer Musik und Improvisation.
Text Bandcamp: Three breathing instruments, three natural ranges: 3 grams is a compositional experiment discovering the intimacies of the voice and saxophone in a trio setting.
Assembled by saxophonist and composer Luise Volkman, this fresh new constellation is capturing the organic sound of three individual breathing instruments, honing in on the related tonal ranges of the collective alto voices in a new repertoire that is sometimes lyrical, sometimes humorous, and sometimes yearning.
Volkmann finds a play with the song structures of pop music combined with free noise improvisation an appealing concept for this trio. Thus the new program moves with seamless fluidity between pop songs, new music and improvisation.
