Axel Fischbacher Trio

Axel Fischbacher ist gebürtiger Lübecker und lebt aktuell in Wuppertal und Berlin. Er entschied sich bereits als Schüler für die Tätigkeit als Berufsmusiker und wirkte als Rockmusiker in verschiedenen Bands mit. Nach dem Abitur spielte er zunächst Tanzmusik in Spanien und war nach seiner Rückkehr unter anderem bei Prox und im Fusion-Funk-Jazz-Projekt Senora tätig. Er studierte am Robert-Schumann-Konservatorium Düsseldorf und der Pädagogischen Hochschule Rheinland (Neuss), der Musikhochschule Köln, und am kanadischen Banff Center of Arts, wurde aber vor allem durch Unterricht bei John Scofield und John Abercrombie geprägt. Während der 1980er Jahre trat er als Gitarrist der Christoph Spendel Group in ganz Europa auf und gründete seine eigene Band, mit der er sechs Alben veröffentlichte.

Bei seiner 2011 erschienenen Debüt-CD Reflections of the Persevering Spirit wurde er auch von Wolfgang Lackerschmid unterstützt, mit dem er auch 2013 auf Tournee ging. Seit 2017 erschienen zwei Alben mit Ra-Kalam Bob Moses.

In der Vergangenheit tourte Carniaux als Mitglied des Radovan Tariška Sextet, mit dem er 2009 auch aufnahm, und der Big Band von Peter Herbolzheimer. Seit 2011 gehört er zu Norbert Steins Pata on the Cadillac (gleichnamige CD, 2012); auch ist er Mitglied des gRoBA-Orchesters und des Globe Unity Orchestra. Weiter spielte er mit Mark Murphy, Benny Golson, Kidd Jordan, Ondřej Štveráček, Misha Mengelberg, Nicolas Simion, Florian Weber, Pablo Held, Thomas Rückert sowie Mike Roelofs/Bob Moses.

Axel Fischbacher was born in Lübeck and currently lives in Wuppertal and Berlin. He decided to become a professional musician when he was still at school and played in various bands as a rock musician. After graduating from high school, he first played dance music in Spain and after his return was active in Prox and the fusion-funk-jazz project Senora, among others. He studied at the Robert Schumann Conservatory in Düsseldorf and the Pädagogische Hochschule Rheinland (Neuss), the Musikhochschule in Cologne, and at Canada’s Banff Center of Arts, but was especially influenced by lessons with John Scofield and John Abercrombie. During the 1980s, he performed throughout Europe as guitarist with the Christoph Spendel Group and founded his own band, with which he released six albums.
