Aly Keïta stammt von der westafrikanischen Elfenbeinküste und ist einer der großen Virtuosen des Balafons, des Melodie-Instruments Westafrikas. Schon als Kind entwickelte der beeindruckende Musiker Instrumente. Sein geniales Balafonspiel – orientiert an traditionell afrikanischem Repertoire – mit westlichem Jazz, zartem Pop und afrikanischer Rhythmik. Eine faszinierende musikalische Begegnung, in der er eine Verbindung zwischen Tradition und Moderne schafft und moderne Stilarten mit dem Balafon erforscht.

Aly Keïta comes from the West African Ivory Coast and is one of the great virtuosos of the balafon, the melodic instrument of West Africa. Already as a child, the impressive musician developed instruments. His ingenious balafon playing – oriented towards traditional African repertoire – with western jazz, delicate pop and African rhythm. A fascinating musical encounter in which he creates a link between tradition and modernity and explores modern styles with the balafon.
