„Ich hatte die Vision für die Musik auf diesem Album schon eine Weile: eine improvisierte Musik mit akustischen und elektronischen Schichten, zart und schwer, gehaucht und organisch, aber auch wild und groovig. eine Betonung auf Klang, Architektur und Schichten, aber gleichzeitig kein völliger Verzicht auf Tonalität (Harmonie, Melodie) und Grooves. Um diese Balance zu erreichen, habe ich die perfekten Musiker gefunden, mit denen ich zusammenarbeiten kann… Ich habe Elli, Philipp und Elias zu einem Konzert im Kölner Stadtgarten eingeladen, das ich durch die NICA-Künstlerförderung kuratieren konnte, und kurz danach die Aufnahmesession im Januar 2022 geplant. Und wieder habe ich die perfekte Person gefunden, mit der ich das Album aufnehmen (und später mischen, produzieren und mastern) kann. Nachdem ich die Teile der aufgenommenen Improvisationen ausgewählt und bearbeitet hatte (es gibt eine ganze Reihe von Schnitten, Loops und Bearbeitungen auf dem Album, von denen einige sehr offensichtlich sind, andere nicht), brachte Jan Philipp seine organische, intuitive und manchmal unorthodoxe Herangehensweise ein, um zu mischen, zu produzieren und einfach mit der Musik zu spielen (auf die bestmögliche Weise). Der gesamte Prozess der Nachbearbeitung gab dieser improvisierten Musik eine zusätzliche Dimension, einen Rahmen, ein komponiertes Gefühl.“

„I had the vision for the music on this album for a while now: an improvised music with acoustic and electronic layers, delicate and heavy, breathy and organic but also wild and groovy. an emphasis on sound, architecture and layers but at the same time not a total abandonment of tonality (harmony, melody) and grooves. to achieve this balance I found the perfect musicians to work with…I invited Elli, Philipp and Elias to a concert at Stadtgarten Cologne I was able to curate through NICA artist development and shortly after that planned the recording session in January of 2022. And again, I found the perfect person to record (and later mix, produce and master) the album with. After I chose the parts of the recorded improvisations and edited them (there’s quite a lot of cuts and loops and edits on the record, some of which are very obvious, some not) Jan Philipp brought his organic, intuitive and sometimes unorthodox approach to mix, produce and just mess with the music (in the best possible way). The whole process of postproducing gave this improvised music an extra dimension, a frame, a composed feel.“
