Wurde mir zugespielt – die Recherche ergibt: es waren jazztrail und bandcamp – hinzu kommt, dass ich eher zu häufig einsammle und davon viel mehr, als ich wirklich hören kann – bin nicht der Künstler, der sich rund um die Uhr um sein eines und eigenes Kunstwerk kümmert – wenn aber passiert, was hier passiert: die Verweise auf John Coltrane – ich höre Love Surpreme heraus – das kann nicht schaden oder schmerzen, ich höre mit Verwunderung: ein Saxophon, das sich nicht mit Coltrane ins Bett legt, sondern ihn, sich und mich herausfordert – grandios gespielte Kammermusik – absolut: Hut ab vor dem – habe keine Formel gefunden, warum es so schwer ist, sich innerhalb Europas einen Namen zu machen, erst recht nicht, da uns aus den USA diese Aufnahme zugespielt wird, Sokratis Votskos kommt aus Griechenland – es muss der Server aus New York diese grandiose Nummer heben – ein Mysterium: wie sich Musik universell darstellt, ihre Rezeption dagegen unter Verschluss bleibt – da dürfen wir uns aus New York (jazztrail) darauf hinweisen lassen, dass es auch in Old Europe Musiker gibt, die „Wie der Titel andeutet, „Footprints of Some Giant Steps“ Wayne Shorters „Footprints“ und John Coltranes „Giant Steps“ zu einem spannungslösenden Arrangement im 5/8-Takt  vermischen – hinter dem Satz steht: Athen, so hörte ich in Athen: sei das New York am Mittelmeer – womit wir bei den Mythen sind – vom großen Sound und Klang – der aus dieser Aufnahme kommt.

It was sent to me – the research shows: it was jazztrail and bandcamp – in addition, I tend to collect too often and much more of it than I could really listen to – I’m not the artist who takes care of his own work of art around the clock – but when what happens here happens: the references to John Coltrane – I hear Love Surpreme out of it – that can’t hurt, I hear with amazement: a saxophone that doesn’t lie in bed with Coltrane, but challenges him, itself and me – grandiosely played chamber music – absolutely: Hats off to that – haven’t found a formula as to why it’s so hard to make a name for yourself within Europe, even more so since this recording is sent to us from the USA, Sokratis Votskos is from Greece – it must be the server from New York who lifts this grandiose number – a mystery: how music presents itself universally, while its reception remains under lock and key – here we may have it pointed out to us from New York (jazztrail) that there are also musicians in Old Europe who „As the title suggests, “Footprints of Some Giant Steps” blends Wayne Shorter’s “Footprints” and John Coltrane’s “Giant Steps”, delivered in a tension-release arrangement delivered at a 5/8 meter signature. – Behind the movement is: Athens, I heard in Athens: is the New York of the Mediterranean – which brings us to the myths – of the great sound and wonder – that comes from this recording.
